Police have arrested a man and woman after poppy donation cans were stolen from various locations in Central Newfoundland.
Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP stopped a vehicle on the weekend and charged the 31-year-old man with drug impaired driving. He and his 30-year-old passenger also face theft-related charges.
According to police, their investigation also led to further theft-related charges from incidents in the area.
The man was released to appear in court early in the new year on the charges of theft, while the investigation continues into drug-impaired driving.
The woman, who had an outstanding warrant against her by the RNC in St. John’s was released to appear later.
Police say the public helped in the case by providing information.
