Parents of students at Bishop Feild want the capital city to put measures in place to improve pedestrian safety at Rawlins Cross near Bishop Feild Elementary.
The school is set to reopen in January and that means more children will have to navigate the busy roundabout, created since the school was closed for repairs over two years ago.
Rhona Buchan says parents are concerned that someone is going to get killed at Rawlins Cross.
She says 300 students are heading back to school January 6, and with 12 crosswalks within a short distance from the school, a number of students are going to have to walk through the area.
They’re looking for a commitment to improve safety for children in the area like adding a crossing guard. Buchan says they’ve been in touch with the city, but as of yesterday, had not heard back.
