A 30-year-old Bay Roberts man has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail for an armed robbery in broad daylight two years ago.
Police say in June of 2017, Shawn Clarke entered the Seaside Lounge in Spaniard’s Bay armed with a knife and demanded cash.
He fled from the scene with a small amount of money, but was later caught thanks to tips from the public.
Last week, Clarke was given a 30 month federal jail sentence for the crime. As well, he must submit DNA to the national DNA databank and is prohibited from owning a weapon for 10 years.
