Funeral arrangements have been announced for three people killed in a collision in central Newfoundland.
Two teenage girls—14-year-old Kaleigh Madore and 16-year-old Kathleen Madore—are waking at the Bayview Pentecostal Tabernacle in Middle Arm. A public celebration in their memory will be held at the church at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Their grandfather—67-year-old Fredrick ‘Cyril’ Winsor—is waking at the Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle in Triton. He’ll be laid to rest this Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery.
A 63-year-old man from Little Bay Islands—who was the lone occupant of the second vehicle—was also killed. Additional funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
Like a Bad Nightmare: Triton Mayor
The grandmother who was seriously injured in a head-on collision in central Newfoundland is said to be improving.
The 61-year-old woman is in hospital in St. John’s, and was first listed as in critical condition. However, she has been upgraded to stable according to the mayor of Triton, Jason Roberts.
He has been told that there do not appear to be any major complications.
Mayor Roberts spoke with some family members last night, but said it’s still the early hours, and they’re just trying to pick up the pieces.
He says they have to get through it the best they can, but it’s just like a bad nightmare.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been launched to help the family. Frank Winsor, an ordained pastor in Triton, says donations large or small are welcome in this time of crisis.
