The man whose life was lost in a tragic car crash over the weekend is being remembered as a “man of deep faith who truly cared for people.”
Jerry Weir, a former President of the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities, was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash near Robert’s Arm. That same crash also claimed the lives of a grandfather and his two teenage granddaughters.
Paul Walsh, the current president of the Coalition, says Weir has left a mark on the community on two levels: First as a spokesperson and advocate who understood the importance of the dignity of people.
On another level, he will be remembered as a “man of the people.”
He was a person who cared about people and looked out for others. Walsh says people like that are hard to come by, and that will be Weir’s legacy.
