The City of St. John’s is putting in a bid to host the 2025 Canada Summer Games and government believes St. Paul’s Field would be the perfect place to build practice skills.
St. Paul’s Junior High held the opening of their track and field facility on Wednesday – a project that has been about ten years in the making.
MHA Bernard Davis says the opening of the new field is just the beginning. St. Paul’s Junior High wants to see more work completed.
Davis says they are hoping there will be further investments made and the partners are committed to making it bigger and better.
By the time the games come along in 2025, Davis says the area could a hub for many sports.
