Firefighters contended with cold, wet conditions to battle a fire at a Shea Heights home this morning.
Around 11 a.m., crews were called to Jordan Place, where a fire had started in the attached garage of a home.
One woman was home when the fire broke out, but was outside by the time St. John’s Regional arrived.
The fire was quickly doused, preventing the damage from spreading much further.

The outside of the garage was charred black, the siding having melted off. Soot and ash could be seen through its open door.
Some heat damage spread to other parts of the front of the house.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
