Marine Atlantic has scrubbed the boat crossings today and tonight.
High winds in the Gulf are causing problems today and may continue to cause trouble tomorrow. For now, today’s crossings have been moved to Saturday.

Environment Canada meteorologist Rodney Barney says around four to five centimeters were already down at YYT as of 6:00 a.m. but in other parts of the island it had already turned to rain at that hour.
In high elevations we could see as much as 10 cm, but in the Clarenville area a snowfall warning saw predictions of 10-20 cm.
Barney says by lunch warmer temps are taking over. In metro it was already changing to rain at around 8:00 a.m. but it will take a little longer in Clarenville.
