You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the lead-up to Christmas, but tomorrow marks a very important day on the calendar when it comes to the community service sector.
Giving Tuesday is a time when people are asked to consider the work being done in the community and the support that’s needed to keep that work going.
People are encouraged to consider their favourite service group or charity and make a donation to give back.
Lisa Browne is the CEO of Stella’s Circle. They’re hosting their 5th annual Light Up Hope ceremony tomorrow at Rawlins Cross to mark Giving Tuesday and launch into the Christmas season.
Browne says it’s her favourite day of the year.
Light up Hope takes place tomorrow at 6:00 at Rawlins Cross and includes fire jugglers, music by DJ Slim Macho, the RNC Mounted Unit, carol singing, treats from the Hungry Heart café and the lighting of the Hope sign.
