A Corner Brook company has been charged with Occupational Health and Safety violations in connection with a fatal workplace accident near Lodge Bay in Labrador.
The victim was a 41-year-old man from Pond Cove, on the Northern Peninsula.
The worker was part of a crew preparing to move a construction camp trailer from one site to another when the incident occurred.
Johnson’s Construction Limited has been charged with six counts under the Act, including failing to provide and maintain a safe workplace, and failing to provide the necessary information, training and supervision to its workers.
The first court appearance is scheduled for January 14 at Wabush Provincial Court.
