A local business owner says a break and enter at her bakery could have been a lot worse, but she is still feeling insulted that the thief left without trying one of her delicious items.
Lainie Stewart, owner of Sugar Mama’s Bakery, tells VOCM News that the culprit broke through the glass door at the front of the business, and stole from the cash.
She says it is the second time her business was struck, since it opened almost nine years ago. The first break-in was at her Mount Pearl location.
Stewart says business is back to normal, but she isn’t worried about the damage.

She says the cases were untouched, though it was a little insulting to see that the person didn’t even stop to grab a piece of cheesecake.
Stewart says the person was alone and didn’t attempt to steal from any of the other businesses on either side of Sugar Mama’s in the strip mall.
