It turns out a beloved pet, missing for 8 months and believed to be dead is alive and well after all… but still on the missing list.
Peter Vaters and Rebecca Curlew of Bay Roberts says Zoe is a special dog and they were heartbroken when they got word a dog matching her description had been struck and killed by a car.
She says the description was so close to Zoe, they gave up hope.
Some time later, they got a text from someone indicating that a dog wearing the bandanna Curlew had made for her, was caught on a trail cam in Brigus Junction, looking weak, but very much alive.
Vaters says people have been keeping them posted about the timid animal’s whereabouts, and how she’s been surviving. He says she’s been surviving by scavenging and eating garbage and compost left around.
A Facebook page has been launched, and the couple are hoping to get her home soon. You can see it here.
