Joy was in the air at the Association for New Canadians yesterday, not just because of the holiday spirit, but because of national pride.
62 new citizens were officially sworn in as Canadians at a ceremony yesterday.
The process began with every new Canadian in attendance reciting the citizenship oath.

Then, each person, some by themselves and others with their whole family in tow, came up to the front to accept their citizenship documents.
Those in attendance were elated with their new status.
