It turns out the person behind a break and enter at a local bakery let their sweet tooth get the best of them after all.

After Sugar Mama’s Bakery was broken into this week, owner Lainie Stewart joked that she felt insulted that the culprit didn’t stop to grab a piece of cheesecake.

She told VOCM News that the thief got in by breaking glass at the front of the shop before stealing a quantity of cash.

But it appears they didn’t stop there.

Stewart posted a short clip from surveillance footage from the night in question. The thief appears to be heading for the door when they get distracted by a dessert on display. They stop and grab an entire cake—stand and all—before leaving.

While Stewart says the video “takes the cake,” she also noted that it appears the culprit prefers cookie cake.

The surveillance footage was provided to police to assist their investigation.
