A food bank in Bay Roberts is getting ready for a busy season.
The Helping Hand welcomes all types of donations—including clothing and household items—but this time of year, their main need is food items.
A group of nurses in the area took it upon themselves to replace their annual gift exchange with making donations to the Helping Hand.
Meanwhile, area MHA Pam Parsons has offered up her district office as a drop-off location for the food bank.
Parsons says they wanted to reach out and offer their office space as a collection area to help those in need.

She says it’s important at times like these for the community to come together.
Donations can be dropped off to the office at 1 Excel Place.
