The deadline for the final report into the Muskrat Falls inquiry has been extended to March 31, 2020.
Commissioner Richard LeBlanc sought the extension after it became clear he would not be able to complete his report by the original deadline date of December 31.

Commissioner LeBlanc says the complexity of the subject matter, the large number of the witnesses and parties and over four thousand exhibits have forced him to seek the extension.
He indicates that the bulk of the report is written, and he needs additional time to compile, edit and print the final report, as well as wind down the Commission’s operations.
He says keeping expenditures for the Inquiry as low as possible continues to be a priority, and that excluding himself, he will reduce Commission staff to five people by December 31.
