A 54-year-old Salmon Cove man is facing weapons charges after a raucous morning in the area.
At around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, Harbour Grace RCMP received a report of a man who damaged a vehicle with a weapon in Salmon Cove and left the scene on foot.
Police located the lone man at the United Church cemetery. He was still armed. Officers set up a perimeter of the area in the interest of public safety.
He was taken into custody with the use of pepper spray and was brought to the hospital for medical treatment shortly after.
The 54-year-old now faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief by damaging property and a breach of probation.
