A crowd of a few hundred protesters marched to the Confederation Building today despite the cold weather as part of a ‘Fridays for Future’ climate change strike.
While the size of the crowd was smaller than September’s strike, the morale was high as the group walked to Confederation Hill from Memorial University’s clock tower.

The goal for this strike was to get more government officials and municipalities on board with proclaiming a climate emergency.
Climate activist Greta Thunberg was just named TIME’s Person of the Year, which also motivated people at the event.
Participants say Greta is an inspiration and she proves that you can make a difference, even if you’re young.
