Concerns about response times are behind changes to the ambulance service in the greater Bay Roberts area.
The three ambulances in Clarke’s Beach will be spread out with two of them soon going to be based in Bay Roberts, the hub of the district. Currently, no ambulances are based in Bay Roberts as all three of Fewers’ (Collins’) are in Clarke’s Beach.
Port de Grave MHA Pam Parsons assures that it is not a downgrade in service or response to any change in demand. Parsons says ambulances will now be spread throughout the region.
Ambulances are based in Brigus, Clarke’s Beach, Bay Roberts, Spaniards Bay and Harbour Grace.
