A town on the Baie Verte Peninsula is getting about $400,000 in government and private funding to expand wireless coverage to the area. The announcement was made in Middle Arm earlier this week.
Bell coughs up nearly $275,000 while the provincial government puts up about $135,000. The town itself will fund about $130,000.
Neville Robinson, the mayor of Middle Arm, sees it as a good upgrade because of tourism potential. They plan on constructing a marina and improving the municipal park.. A hotel is already under construction.
