It was a successful weekend for the team who rescued around 40 cats from Little Bay Islands and the cats are adjusting to their new province.
Volunteers from Halifax, Deer Lake, and surrounding communities descended over the weekend to rescue the abundance of stray cats.
Hugh Chisholm, a retired veterinarian and the Vice President of the Spay Day HRM Society, says the rescue was like clockwork and the felines are getting settled away in Halifax. He is involved with the Halifax group and says it is not everyday you find a group of volunteers like the group that gathered in Little Bay Islands this past weekend.
He says taking something on like this would seem absolutely impossible for many groups but they love a challenge and if it is crazy, they want to tackle it.
Altogether they rescued 42 felines from the area.
The group recorded their process on their blog over the weekend. You can follow along here.
