A downtown business operator calls it a “perfect storm.”
People throughout the capital city area were left waiting for cabs – some for hours – Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Brenda O’Reilly was responding to complaints about a shortage of cabs in the capital city at the peak of the Christmas party season.
She says it was a sloppy night, and some people had to walk home.
O’Reilly says poor weather and increased demand came together on Saturday night. She says the situation wasn’t due to any one particular event.
O’Reilly says she was assured by local cab companies that they had full fleets on.
