A business student at Memorial University was just trying to make it home for his younger brother’s funeral before a simple mistake caused a major change of plans.

Leonard Mawora needed new luggage to travel back to Zimbabwe and purchased two bags at Winners. He packed the bags and figured he didn’t need the space.

He returned a black Guess duffel bag to Winners not realizing his passport, along with his Canadian and UK Visa, were inside.

Mawora says the issue isn’t getting to Zimbabwe; he says the Zimbabwean Embassy can supply him with an electronic travel document.

It’s getting back to Newfoundland without a Visa that is stopping him.

Mawora says he will be staying in Canada until he gets a new passport. He says he knows people in Zimbabwe who have waited for over a year to get a new one.

He is praying that he finds it soon and asks anyone who might have purchased the bag to check for the passport.
