The province’s largest union is waging a campaign to convince people to buy and shop local.
NAPE, which represents workers in the private and public sectors, says keeping money in the province means more support for the economy and local workers and businesses.
Union president Jerry Earle says the campaign is aimed at NAPE members and businesses that employ them.
He says it isn’t always possible, but where and when you can you should shop locally because ever dollar you spend benefits you and your neighbours as well.
