The US House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump.
The decision came down late Wednesday evening in a historic vote that will see Trump become just the third president in American history to be impeached.
The president faced charges of abuse of power and obstruction of congress.
The next step now is for the senate to hold a trial, which could lead to Trump’s removal from office.
Meanwhile, earlier today the president responded to the process calling it an “assault on America.”
