Twenty-five volunteers, O’Neill Nissan staff and community members were all part of making a large donation to the Gathering Place today.
The check outs were a little congested today but for a good cause as carts upon carts were checked in to be brought to the Gathering Place from Sobeys on Kelsey Drive.
There was $5,500 worth of groceries and personal care items picked from the shelves and carried to trucks provided by O’Neill Nissan.
The event happens each year for a different cause and this year, Milestone Promotions and Events chose The Gathering Place after seeing a need following a tour with Executive Director, Joanne Thompson.
Owner of Milestone, Gord Delaney, says for many this event kicks off that magical Christmas feeling and gets people in the giving spirit.
The groceries are being sorted at the Gathering Place today to be used over the holidays.
