The province’s Justice Minister believes the town of Burgeo will find a way to keep going following a fatal workplace accident earlier this week.

RCMP were called to the Burgeo Arena early Friday morning following a report that a man had died at the scene.

Justice Minister Andrew Parsons could not comment on the specific nature of the incident, but does say the town has gone into mourning and are still in shock. Parsons says the town had to go through two tragedies in the same day, the other being a fire that heavily damaged a home. He says it is a lot for a community the size of Burgeo to take in.

But, Parsons believes the town will find the strength to continue in the face of tragedy.

He says they will find a way to persevere.

Few details have been released as investigators piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
