The magic of Christmas was on full display earlier today as a Zimbabwe man’s lost travel documents were returned to him.

Leonard Mawora’s life was turned upside down about a week ago. He had booked a flight home to Zimbabwe to attend his younger brother’s funeral, as well as to attend a wedding, and bought some new luggage for the trip.

He decided he didn’t need to use one of the bags he had bought and returned it to Winners, not realizing his Passport, UK and Canadian Visas were inside.

Yesterday evening, April Day was wrapping Christmas gifts and found the documents inside of the bag, which she had bought as a gift for her mother.

Mawora met up with Day earlier today to retrieve the documents.

Day says emotion overcame her as soon as she realized she had the documents.

She almost fainted, she couldn’t believe it. She says to be a part of this “Christmas miracle” is amazing, and to know Mawora can go home to his family is even better.

Returning the documents isn’t the only gift the Day family is giving the man, however. They have offered to buy him a new ticket to go home, and he will arrive Christmas day.

Day says the money doesn’t matter, because it is Christmas and Christmas means being with your family.
