No changes are being made to the way snow clearing will be tackled across the province this season.
Transportation Minister Steve Crocker says the Department will be going forward the same way this year as it has in previous years.
Crocker says they have put a number of tools in place for drivers to make informed decisions.
He says informed decision making is one of the most important pieces of driving. There is now NL511 that gives you the opportunity to make those decisions and see what driving conditions are before going out.
The Minister says if you can postpone travel in adverse weather conditions, make that decision. He says there are also 45 cameras around the province showing conditions.
He states that in the last number of years they’ve given drivers all the tools possible including the plow tracker that shows when roads were last cleared.
Crocker says there are over 700 men and women operating over 400 pieces of equipment on a daily basis.
He claims the equipment will be in place, and he encourages the public to use the tools available to them to make the right decision.
