Despite troubles, 2,500 more tonnes of freight were delivered to the north coast of Labrador this year than previous years, according to the province’s transportation minister.
Steve Crocker says they finished earlier than any other season, and the reality is freight got to the north coast faster than previous years.
Crocker understands there were challenges in 2019, and says they look forward to working with all four Labrador MHA’s as they move towards the 2020 transportation season and make the necessary improvements.
PC MHA Lela Evans has called the ferry a failure, but Crocker disagrees.
He says there are absolutely challenges, but he also sees the fact that all freight got to the north coast earlier than the last two years, and they moved more of it.
Crocker claims that many of the challenges are around shore-based logistics and that is what they will discuss early in the New Year.
