When crews arrived they found smoke coming from the business. Upon making entry they found a fire in a storage room near the kitchen. They quickly attacked the fire, confining fire and water damage to the immediate area. The remainder of the hotel suffered smoke damage, however.
Fire crews from Mount Pearl, Brookfield, and West End Stations responded to the fire. There were no injuries reported, and none of the rooms were occupied. The last occupant left the hotel the previous morning.
