Premier Dwight Ball says he is ready to go on an apology from the province to residential school survivors.
Ball says they want to make sure that the Indigenous groups see themselves in the apology. He says a lot is about location and logistics. Ball says he is ready whenever they are, and they have all Indigenous leaders working on what the apology should look like.
Ball says he wants to do it on behalf of Newfoundland and Labrador, the current government and past governments.
The Premier reiterates that this is an apology that comes from the people of the province to Indigenous groups, and he has made the commitment to be able to do that.
