The recruitment and retention of some teachers in the province is proving to be a challenge.
Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association President Dean Ingram says the province is encountering issues in rural Newfoundland and in the Francophone school system.
There have been problems with access to substitute teachers in other pockets of the province as well.
Some of the biggest challenges are in more remote areas of Labrador; Ingram says it’s a problem that is growing and needs to be addressed.
