Marble Mountain in Corner Brook is expecting a late start to the ski season on the west coast.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Richard Wells says the hills were scheduled to be ready on January 2, but that’s not going to happen.

They’re disappointed that the slopes will not be ready for people to use before they head back to school and work following the holidays.
As for the moment, they’re playing a waiting game.
They’re waiting for either a snow storm that delivers a foot or more of snow—which is not uncommon in Newfoundland this time of year—or a couple of days of significantly cold temperatures.
There was a late start last year, as well, as the slopes opened on January 7.
Wells says the resort hasn’t been able to open on Boxing Day in about five or ten years, and indicates climate change may have a hand in that.
