For those who asked for a white Christmas this year, Santa really over-delivered.
The whole province has received its share of snow. Between Christmas Eve and today St. John’s Airport reported seeing 54 cm fall; the highest of any airport in the province.
Currently in metro, 36 cm is on the ground, though that’s beaten out by 43 cm in Gander and a whopping 63 cm piling up in Deer Lake.
Jody Boyd of Environment Canada’s Gander Weather office says it’s a bit early for so much snow, but New Year’s is looking good.
He says tomorrow winds are dying down and clouds clearing just in time for fireworks.
