The Funderdome in Mount Pearl has been damaged by fire.
Crews were called to the area shortly before 1:00 this morning.
Platoon Chief Dean Foley with St. John’s Regional Fire Department says the building’s sprinkler system had the blaze under control by the time they arrived. Crews then extinguished the rest of the fire.
According to Foley, the blaze occurred in the back of the building. He says a couple of what he believes were party rooms were damaged by the fire. However, the entire building received water damage.
There were no injuries. The RNC are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Meanwhile, this is the second Mount Pearl business to be damaged by fire since Christmas.
Hotel Mount Pearl was hit by two fires, one on Christmas night and a second one last Saturday.
The second blaze completely destroyed that building.
