A new driver in central Newfoundland was clocked doing over 80 km/h above the speed limit yesterday.
RCMP first observed the driver on the TCH just west of Gander shortly before 2:00 yesterday afternoon.
The vehicle was clocked at 182 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
As a result, a 17-year-old novice driver has been charged with speeding more than 51 km/h over the posted limit.
As well, the driver’s license was seized and vehicle impounded.
