Our current system of policing in the province is broken.
That’s according to editor of the Independent Drew Brown after a frustrating experience with the RNC.
Brown and his wife Sarah were victims of a break and enter on New Year’s Eve, but after some detective work, discovered their stolen items for sale online and even went to the suspected thief’s house posing as buyers and confirmed the items were present.
But having tracked down the culprit, shortly after they reported it to the police they were told nothing could be done as the case had already been mishandled by officers.

Brown says the police system needs to be completely reworked with more civilian oversite.
Brown says we live in a place where your house can be robbed and you can have a reasonable expectation that there will be no consequences, as RNC will either do nothing or do it wrong.
He says either they can’t do the job of policing or they aren’t organized enough to accomplish it.
VOCM News has reached out to the RNC for comment.
