Premier Dwight Ball says his government will fix the issue of patronage in government.
Ball says it started in 2016 with the merit-based independent Appointments Commission.
He claims it has had 2,600 applications in the last three years, and put over 600 people in jobs.
Ball says they don’t interfere with them, they take their advice and make decisions based on their recommendations.
The Premier claims it’s working. He says when he see’s some of the problems they’ve dealt with in recent days, like the Mitchelmore Report and the hiring of Carla Foote at The Rooms. Ball says as Premier he accepts the responsibility to fix it, and he will.
