People living in a cul-de-sac in St. John’s are faced with what they see as an unfair situation after city plows left a lot of snow in their wake.
The three to four-foot high field of heavy snow extends a considerable distance out from some driveways in the neighbourhood, including that of Catherine Hollahan.

The capital city saw over 40 centimetres of snow fall during the first major snowstorm of 2020. City crews were deployed in full force to try to cut through the storm’s accumulation, which began on Sunday afternoon.
Hollohan says she tried to contact City Hall about the mess left in front of her residence on Monday, but to no avail.

She has lived at St. Teresa’s Court off Mundy Pond Road for over three decades, and indicates this happens every year.
Hollahan contends that the plow operator had even seen her standing in her doorway with her cane.
