A 53-year-old woman has been charged with assault after a man was stabbed in Hopedale.

On Saturday, RCMP responded to a serious assault where a man a stabbed at a local residence.

The man was transported to the Hopedale Community Clinic for immediate medical attention. He was then airlifted out of the community for further medical treatment, and is expected to make a full recovery.

The 53-year-old woman from Hopedale was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

She was held for court.
