A new airline is coming to St. John’s this summer.
Swoop, a branch of WestJet Airlines, has picked St. John’s as part of their East Coast network expansion. This service will provide a daily-direct flight from St. John’s to Hamilton, Ontario.
The expansion will also open up direct flights to Hamilton from Moncton, New Brunswick and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The airline claims to have “ultra-low-fares.” They hope that this expansion to Eastern Canada will help better connect the maritimes with the rest of the country.
CEO at St. John’s International Airport, Peter Avery, says this new link to Hamilton will increase accessibility to their largest market.
The new service is scheduled to begin in June and run until October.
