After a tenuous start to the year, Marble Mountain officially opens for the season today thanks to a well-needed dose of snow.
The skiing season got off to a slow start with little snow and less-than-ideal conditions on the hill, which put the 2020 opener on ice.
While high winds and snow played havoc across much of the island this week, it was great news for crews at Marble Mountain, and paved the way for grooming to start on its slopes.
Not all tracks are opened quite yet, but snowmaking and grooming will continue in the coming days.
The first chair of the year will head to the top of the hill this morning.
