Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he is “outraged and “furious” after a Ukrainian jetliner was shot down on Tuesday night that killed all 176 on board, including 57 Canadians.
The Prime Minister spoke with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani by phone. Rouhani has confirmed that an Iranian missile took down the plane by mistake.
At a press conference in Ottawa today, Trudeau says a full investigation must be conducted.
Trudeau says he told Rouhani that Canada must participate in the investigation and that he expects full cooperation from Iranian authorities.
Trudeau says Iran must take full responsibility for the tragedy and that more must be done to bring justice to the families of the dead.
