Adrianna Harris is the latest Newfoundlander to become a reality TV star.
She’s on the new TLC show Hot and Heavy which follows plus size women and their thinner significant others.
Harris says she is out to change stereotypes but the initially the show was met with negative reviews. She says there’s been a lot of backlash but she’s trying her best not to read those comments, but it’s impossible to not see some.
After airing, Harris and her boyfriend, Ricardo Thompson, say the reviews became much more positive.
He says most of the negativity came from when the trailer for the show aired and was directed toward the network and not them. After the first episode aired, they both say the show is being viewed in a much more positive light.
Harris says after watching all the episodes she is pleased with the end result and enjoyed the experience which has taught her more about self-love.
