The NunatuKavut Community Council has launched two pilot programs that it says will contribute to the health and well-being of southern Inuit and communities.
The $1.75-million Medical Transportation Program provides financial support to help alleviate the travel costs for those who need specialized insured medical services.
Up to $5,000 is available per patient and up to $7,000 per patient and escort.
The program is available to all members of NCC.
Meanwhile, the $1.25-million Home Repair Program provides funding assistance for home repairs in NunatuKavut communities. The maximum available to homeowners is $11,000.
