With the impending storm Marine Atlantic has issued a lengthy travel advisory.

High winds and big waves are a concern.

Darrell Mercer, Corporate Communications Officer says the travel advisory begins tonight and lasts until Monday.

He says unfortunately there is another system coming behind the big one that starts tonight. They want to give customers advanced notice that if they could travel earlier it’s advisable. Disruptions could start tonight with winds reaching over 100 km/h and waves up to eight metres.

Mercer says Marine Atlantic is encouraging people to try and make this morning’s crossing.

He says the hope is that once the first storm system moves out there will be a break before the second system moves in.
