The state of emergency in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s is temporarily being lifted to allow residents to get emergency supplies. The state of emergency will go back into effect at 9 p.m. tonight.

The town asks residents to stay home unless necessary and to respect other towns states of emergency. They say roads in the area are not widened to comfortably accommodate high traffic.
