Newfoundland Power has made significant progress in restoring electricity.
At one point Friday night and Saturday morning, over 22,000 customers were in the dark and cold.
Restoration was challenged by dangerous conditions, and roads rendered impassible by heavy snow. However, crews set out to work en force yesterday.
Our crews have made good progress today, restoring power to about 75% of our customers impacted by storm-related outages. Restoration remains challenging with blowing snow, impassable roads & high snow drifts. Crews will continue to work overnight, restoring power where they can. pic.twitter.com/7aS4QAlQW8

The utility whittled that down to 20,000 in short order, and was down to 17,000 by about lunchtime yesterday.
Early last evening they restored another 7,000 customers and this morning, only about 4,000 people are without power. Most of them are in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s and on the Bonavista Peninsula.
Helicopter patrols and assistance from provincial & municipal plows help our crews assess damage & make repairs. A big shout out to all those who are helping our crews get to where they need to be so they can safely restore power for our customers. Great team effort!!! Stay Safe. pic.twitter.com/8U2zZyqPLh
