St. John’s International was a busy place yesterday when the airport finally opened after five days with no flights in or out.
Reid Smith and his buddies from Salt Lake City Utah were in the capital city filming a snowboarding video for their company RIDE Snowboards.
They were supposed to leave last Thursday, but the flight was cancelled.

Lucky for them says Smith, they got to experience some snowboarding in the heart of the city.
Smith says they usually try to use buildings in their stunts, but the storm offered them some more options not usually available to them.
Smith tells VOCM News it appears the city wasn’t equipped to handle the snow. If he had his time back, he jokes he would have done things differently, and flown out Wednesday instead.
